1. ) Auto Reset Switch

Lifting and reaching underneath the boiler to reset your electric homebrewing system is now a thing of the past!

The new auto reset switch avoids needing a physical, manual switch to reset the system; ensuring homebrewers can quickly and easily resume their brew day if an unexpected reset is required.

2. ) Grain Basket Assembly

The newly redesigned Perforated Edge Grain Basket on the G303 features side wall perforations to improve wort flow and to prevent a stuck mash.

In addition to the redesigned grain basket, the new Rolled Edge Mash Plate filters the wort efficiently without warping. The new rolled edges mean that there is no need for silicone seals, making the plates much easier to install, remove, and clean.

The new grain basket and mash plate design means that there is no need for overflow pipework or a top plate, allowing for a hassle-free brew day.

Benefits of Electric Heating

The Grainfather is electrically powered and designed to be used indoors or outdoors. No need for burners, or hot plates, just plug in and go! It is fitted with a controlled heating element so that the correct power can be used depending on what stage of the brewing process you are at. A gentler heat is used at certain stages for accurate temperature control and and to minimise the risk of scorching and after the mash it can also ramp up the heat quickly for when more vigorous heating is required. Heating from mash to boil takes as little as 20 minutes.

Wireless Control for Heat, Power, and Pumping

Use the Grainfather G30³ Control Box in conjunction with the Connect App and Grainfather Brewing Community for the ultimate brewing experience. Create your recipes on the Grainfather Brewing Community and then sync these recipes with the Connect app. The control box has Bluetooth connection to your mobile device so it can be controlled remotely. This allows you to multitask or simply relax while brewing and then be alerted when to return to your next step.

Powerful Magnetic Drive Pump

A 6 Watt, 1,800 RPM magnetic powered pump has been fitted to recirculate the wort through the grain bed for maximum brewing efficiencies. This is also used during the cooling stage to pump hot wort through the wort chiller. The pump also makes the cleaning process quick and easy by pumping the cleaning detergent through all the pipe work. The magnetic drive pump has been selected after rigorous testing of multiple pump styles to ensure it meets the tough demands required of continuous brewing. The pump is concealed by a stainless pump cover, which is easy to pop open, giving you direct access. A pump filter is fitted inside the Grainfather to prevent hops and stray grain from entering the pump or pipework, keeping the wort clear while also preventing any blockages.

Instructions:

Attach pipework to one of the G30 rolled plates (bottom plate) gently lower plate into the inner basket.
Continue brewing as per the G30 instructions.

Features:

Two-stage false bottom. The conical base allows a false bottom with an inner collar to sit in the recess of the base. Early testers used 600gs of hops and saw full flow through the pump. This is very effective.

Bespoke 3.2 kWh concealed conical heating element. Make the most of the power available. The element covers around 80% of the base and is mounted using a thermal paste rather than braised. This moves the heat efficiently upwards, minimizing the loss of heat to areas where it’s not needed. As it’s spread in a wide area, hot spots and scorching are very unlikely. Also, most solids settle on the false bottom, so they won’t touch the elements. As it’s concealed, it makes cleaning easy too.

Integrated sight glass for easy volume readings during sparging. Instead of trying to judge the level of your preboil, you can easily sparge until you reach preboil volume. It’s also easy to clean after every brew. The sight glass cap can be replaced with the sight glass cleaning barb to easily recirculate a cleaning solution.

Bottom drain below the false bottom means minimal dead space.

High temperature, high flow rate, food-grade pump. With an 8L per minute flow rate, you can transfer your brew efficiently and safely. Heavy duty handles on the outside of the G70² unit.

Convenient side entry recirculation. Rather than up and over, the G70² has a built in port on the side of the unit. If the pump is accidentally switched on, the wort will be safely directed back into the boiler.

New rolled edge, mash plates and hop filter for increased strength and easy set up. There’s no more silicone seals, as the plates now have a smooth finish, making them more robust, hard-wearing and easy to install. Compared to the G30, the G70² is wider but not that much taller. Comparatively, the draining is still quick from the basket and there’s less likelihood of stuck sparges as the draining surface area is bigger.

Safety aspects including locked in support ring, heavy duty, no slip brackets on the grain basket and protection from knocking the ball valve open.

Automatic heat sensors and safety cut-out for dry boil protection.

Color LCD controller screen with magnetic mounting for easy viewing from all angles and manual control.

This runs in line with the pump so it’s particularly helpful when draining the cleaning water. The water runs out quickly, emptying the unit in no time.

Huge Wort Chiller included. Despite the volume being more than double, cooling times remain around the same as the G30 thanks to a more powerful pump, efficient false bottom and bigger wort chiller to match the wider unit.

The large size means it needs to be positioned away from the G70², however this is made easy with longer silicone tubing attached as standard.

Lifting bar included with winch lifting hook. Use the bar for a two person lift or with a stable winch system for individual brewers to lift the grain basket.

Large dual-stage hop filter provides a large surface area to allow for a hopping rate of up to 1.5kg, which also reduces pump load and blockages.
